Enrolling can easily be done through our website by clicking on ‘Enrol today’ or at any of our centres in person. If you know which classes you are joining it takes only a few minutes to fill out our registration form!
We encourage students to enrol at the start of the term as each lesson progressively builds upon the last. However, we understand you may have other commitments to sort out, therefore students are welcome to enroll at any time during the year.
Due to privacy we do not advertise the names of our students, however each year over 85% of our students score an ATAR above 90.
State ranks are not easy to receive however, we have students that now teach at The Brain who were Top 20 in the state for English Advanced, English Extension 1 and 2, Mathematics General, Advanced Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics.
This is a one-off fee that every student must pay that covers administration, homework help, and materials over the journey of your child’s education at The Brain. Whilst other tutoring centres charge a termly fee for materials or homework help, we don’t believe in such hidden costs. We aim to provide our own materials, assistance, and support for all students to accommodate their learning needs without the extra termly cost.
Regardless of school term weeks, every term in the Brain is 10 weeks unless you are in Year 12 which will have 11 weeks.

In the senior years, we see the value of organising English classes based on schools. This is because topics, texts, and assessments from schools will vary. As a result, school-based classes are an effective way to ensure students are getting the relevant help for their individual assignments. Furthermore, we are experts in schools within the St. George region as well as the Selective Schools. Usually a tutor is assigned to the school-based classes that they themselves originally attended, e.g. a North Sydney Boys High Graduate will usually be assigned to the NSBHS class. This allows the students to interact with a tutor who has experience from that particular school as well as from greater connections with their school peers.
We understand that some schools cover topics in a different order. As a result, many tutoring centres will ignore this and the students will fall behind at school, defying the logic of them attending tutoring to being with! Therefore, with schools that run their programs in a different order to the syllabus allocation, we have specialised classes. We understand that may not offer classes for some schools, therefore we suggest students forming class of their own at a time of their choosing and we can assign a qualified and experienced teacher.
Unfortunately, The Brain does not offer discounts on individual subjects. Our prices are already extremely competitive and instead we offer multi-subject packages. For Years 11 and 12, three classes are $150/week and for classes becomes $180/week! In comparison to full rates, that’s a saving of over 50%! Similarly, for students in years 7 to 10, three classes are $114/week, two classes are $95/week, and for K-6 students three classes are $60/week. Instead of offering discounts, we aim to enrich your child’s learning by supplementing their studies with free workshops and weekly homework help. These interactive workshops assist in the overall development of the student and is something that we value highly.
Workshops include:
English classes focus on critically and analytically responding to different types of texts whilst writing lessons encourage more imaginative and interpretive thinking. English classes cover a specific issue each week where students are taught how to respond to short answer questions and relevant techniques. Whilst writing skills is touched upon in English classes, writing lessons are pertinent when building creative and reflective thinking. Since Preliminary and HSC assessments are dominated by essays and creative pieces, The Brain encourages students to join the writing classes alongside English classes. This will allow them to tie in relevant skills and gain the top ranks in the competitive school assessments.
The Brain encourages individuals to join classes in order to gain more value as well as build confidence to interact with peers. However, private tuition is available for students who need individualistic support – whether you are struggling or accelerated. Students are welcomed to do a entrance test to see which method of learning will accomodate their educative needs.
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds or credits. However, students are welcome to do a make-up lesson in the week of the missed lesson if other class times are offered. if there are no alternate classes available, students are encouraged to ask for the material they missed and book in for homework help to ensure they receive any assistance required.
Feel free to give us a call or leave a message so that one of our Student Services representatives can assist you.
